What this topic is
Predictions questions ask what is most likely to happen next, or how a character or author would probably respond to a new situation, based only on the passage.
The answer must follow from evidence already given, such as a character's established habits or an author's stated beliefs. If a narrator has been described as cautious throughout a story, the reasonable prediction is a careful choice, not a sudden reckless one.
SSAT Upper stems in this area often use words like most likely or would probably. Wrong choices tend to be dramatic, possible in the real world, but unsupported by anything in the text.
Every question is picked for where you are right now, wrong answers come back until they stick, and it all works offline.
