What this topic is
An independent variable is the factor a researcher changes on purpose, the dependent variable is what is measured in response, and controlled variables are factors kept the same so the comparison is fair.
Identifying controls, variables, and hypotheses asks for those labels in ACT Science descriptions of experiments. A control group, which receives no treatment, is different from a controlled variable, and choices sometimes exploit that difference.
Questions may also ask which hypothesis a study was designed to test, judged by what was varied and what was recorded. Reading the procedure for the words varied, held constant and measured usually identifies each role.
Every question is picked for where you are right now, wrong answers come back until they stick, and it all works offline.
