Cross-Text Connections questions present a pair of short passages on the same subject and ask how their authors relate.
The most frequent version asks how the author of the second text would most likely respond to a claim or finding in the first. Answering it means pinning down each author's position precisely, then predicting the reaction: the second author might accept a result but reject the explanation offered for it.
Answer choices tend to blend wording from both texts, so a choice can sound familiar while misstating one side. Partial agreement is common between the authors, which makes extreme responses such as complete dismissal rarely correct.
